These terms govern your use of ChinaTravelBible.com (the "Site"). By browsing the Site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
The Site is an independent English-language travel publication covering travel to China. We are not a government body, a visa agency, an immigration consultancy, a tour operator or a booking platform, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
2. Using our content
All articles, guides, itineraries, photographs, illustrations and the site design are protected by copyright and belong to the Site or the parties who licensed them to us.
- You may read, print and share our pages for personal, non-commercial planning, and quote short extracts with a clear credit and a link back to the source page.
- You may not republish substantial parts of our guides, scrape the Site in bulk, mirror it, resell it, or feed it into a commercial product without written permission.
To request permission, or to report content you believe infringes your rights, contact us using the address in the footer.
3. Travel information is a starting point, not a guarantee
China's entry rules, transport schedules, prices, opening hours and booking platforms change frequently — sometimes at short notice. We work to keep our guides current and we show a last-checked date on every article, but we cannot guarantee that any detail is accurate at the moment you read it.
- Always confirm visa, entry and health requirements with the National Immigration Administration, the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country, or an official visa application centre.
- Confirm transport and accommodation details with the carrier or property itself before you rely on them.
- Nothing on the Site is legal, immigration, medical or financial advice. It is travel journalism, and editorial opinion is exactly that.
4. Third-party sites and services
Our guides link to airlines, rail operators, hotels, payment providers and official government portals. Those sites are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or handling of your data.
5. Advertising and affiliate disclosure
The Site is funded by advertising and, potentially, by affiliate commissions. This is how we keep the guides free.
- Advertising: display advertising is served by third-party networks. Advertisers have no involvement in, or sight of, our editorial content.
- Affiliate links: where we link to a product or service and may earn a commission, this never changes what we recommend or the price you pay. We recommend services because we believe they are useful, and we say so plainly when a tool is poor.
- Independence: no advertiser, tourism board or operator has ever been given editorial approval over a page.
6. Acceptable use
When using the Site you agree not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or its data;
- introduce malware, or interfere with the Site's normal operation;
- use automated systems to harvest content or contact details;
- use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that damages other users.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the Site online, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including individual articles — at any time and without notice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site. This includes missed flights or trains, refused entry, denied boarding, overstays, disrupted bookings, or costs incurred because a rule changed after we last checked it. You remain responsible for verifying your own travel arrangements.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the Site evolves. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised version.
